Rick Derringer by Nelson Onofre
Welcome back Blues fans! This week I am featuring photos of Rick Derringer from a show he played at BB King's on April 22. Pat Travers opened the show and photos of Pat can be found here. What can I say about Rick? He's a music business veteran with a very impressive track record.
He was just 17 when his band The McCoys scored a number 1 hit with "Hang On Sloopy". After that he went on to hookup with Johnny Winter for some classic albums. Then of course there's the band Derringer. Like Pat Travers Rick has Blues blood in his veins and has gone on to record numerous Blues albums such as The Three Kings of the Blues, Knighted by the Blues, Back to the Blues, Jackhammer Blues, Collection: The Blues Bureau Years, Electra Blues, and Blues Deluxe.
This was my second time seeing Rick perform. I had seen him with the band Derringer and if you're interested those photos can be found here. Check out this veteran performer when he hits your part of town, you will not be disappointed!
