Sugar Blue by Nelson Onofre
Welcome back Blues fans! This week I am featuring photos of the electrifying Sugar Blue from his show at Terra Blues in April. Sugar is another one of those guys that slipped under the radar for me. Sugar and his band played a high energy set that had the crowd screaming for more. The band was tight, bluesy and funky and while all are superb musicians I have to give extra kudos to drummer Turbo Murray. He and Ilaria Lantieri on bass provided as solid a rhythm section as I've heard at Terra Blues.
The band played a great version of Messin' With The Kid and all night long Sugar was leading the charge on harmonica. Folks, you gotta see this band on-stage. Some bands are just meant to be seen on-stage and this is one of them. They certainly deliver the goods!
