Los Angeles, CA
Marcia Ball might have grown up in (Vinton) Louisiana but her Texas roots (born March 20th, 1949 Orange, Tx) were showing at the legendary MINT in Los Angeles where she rocked the house for almost 2 hours without breaking a sweat.
With no fewer than 15 albums, a couple of Grammy nominations and a 'Piano player of the year' award under her belt there was no shortage of favorites to fill up her set. With songs like 'Peace Love and BBQ' and 'Louisiana 1929' Marcia can make you dance and cry at the same time.
The sold out standing room only crowd danced to every song and had energy left over to hail Marcia back to the stage for a long two song encore. While she didn't interact with the crowd as much as I've seen in the past there wasn't much time for it, Marcia came to play and play she did. You won't hear any complaints from this crowd who had more fun than should be legal without some sort of permit, after all, this is Los Angeles. You can catch up with Marcia and the band out on the road at these respectable places near you:
