NEW YORK BLUES: The Beat Goes On- Les Paul Tribute, Michael Hill, The Woes

Iridium Jazz Club, Aug. 16, 2009I was at the Iridium Jazz Club to see the fantastic Brazilian
pianist Eliane Elias and I saw this tribute to Les Paul right
outside the club. The Iridium is where Les appeared every
Monday night since 1996. Right behind the frame is a large
card that passersby had signed. I wanted to share this with you.
Greetings Blues fans! Been a busy week for me. I caught a great show by the Harlem Blues Project over at BB King's Blues Club and Friday night I was treated to a triple bill of John Nemeth, John Lee Hooker Jr, and Walter Trout, also at BB King's. Those photos will be posted at a later date. This week I am submitting photos of Michael Hill and a band called The Woes, both which I caught at Terra Blues. I'm sure most of you are aware of the passing of Les Paul. Please be sure to read the excellent write-up by our own J. Blake. All I can say is that guitar players the world over should be tipping their caps to Les right about now.
