Kent Burnside by Nelson Onofre


What's up Blues fans! This week I am submitting photos of Kent Burnside from his gig at Terra Blues in New York on March 31, 2010. I have to admit not knowing much about Kent so I will ask you to visit his MySpace page to read up on him and listen to some tracks.
I do know he wasn't playing with his regular band at Terra Blues. He was backed my members of Pork Chop Willie which featured some interesting fiddle work from Melissa Tong. It appears they play together quite often so check them out if you get a chance.

I would like to thank Richard Lee of Terra Blues for his continued support and letting me do my thing at Terra Blues.

Until the next go-round, keep supporting the Blues. As you can see these cats are working hard to lay it down for you.

Duke Robillard by Nelson Onofre


Greetings and Happy Holidays blues fans! I hope Santa dropped off everything or almost everything on your Christmas list. I'm sure there were more than a few shiny new electric guitars left under Christmas trees. Any aspiring blues men or women out there?

This week I am submitting photos of Duke Robillard from his Oct. 28, 2009 show at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York. Duke has been on the scene for 30 plus years and is one of the most well respected guitarists in the blues community. He is the second most honored guitarist for The Blues Music Awards, having won 4 out of 5 years. Check out his website and see if he'll be performing at a club near you sometime soon.

Fri: Northeast Photographer - Nelson Onofre
Nelson offers a Friday column of blues photography and pictorial support for the interviews covered by the team.

Jim Stick in Colorado
Jim will be focusing on the Blues Festivals in the beautiful state of Colorado, and the artists that live and visit there.

Maureen Elizabeth, our resident art correspondent, will be focusing on blues art as she explores the creation of CD covers, or speaking with artists who also have a love of creating pictorial art in addition to their music! She may also feature some of her good friends in the Pittsburgh area. In her love of art, you may find Maureen's photography accompanying writer's articles on our pages. Maureen is also our marketing director.

Pittsburgh correspondent and photographer, CR Bennett, will share the Pittsburgh scene with all of you. You may also see CR's pictures accompanying other writer's articles.

We head to the big state of Texas! Abby Owen, our Texas correspondent.

Another big area to cover, the West Coast with Casey Reagan, Casey will feature many artists and events on this ocean's shores.

Lastly, we have our roving blues entertainment writer,
Chef Jimi.

And of course, we will surprise you sometimes!
